Oxford Street Studio is a new and exciting Brighton venue for Artist Open House 2015. The body of work entitled ‘Bri-tonal’ will showcase the work of six talented artists on the theme of Brighton. Each artist has aimed to depict what Brighton means to them by showing their audience a glimpse of the city through their work.

Conveniently situated in the heart of Brighton, this is the first venue on the ‘Beyond The Level’ trail and is well worth a visit.  We have an eclectic and inclusive mix of artists, from LGBT, international & local backgrounds. We are a child-friendly studio and will be offering a selection of workshops & demonstrations, all which will be confirmed via our website.

Artists Open Houses 2015 Christmas Festival

We warmly welcome you to our first Christmas Festival at Oxford Street Studio! We are a friendly group of artists showing a variety of work perfect for the season. With items ranging from Christmas cards and stocking-fillers to unique artworks and prints for the perfect present, it’s a must see for your wintery wonders!

Because our friends are dying… A solo exhibition by Alf Le Flohic supporting The Sussex Beacon

30th November & 1st December 2015 10.00 – 20.00 daily

Oxford Street Studio is proud to show case an important series of images taken at an ACT UP demonstration in Paris 1992 by Alf Le Flohic. It was a time when the fight against HIV/AIDS was moving painfully slowly.

This two day event will be raising much needed funds for The Sussex Beacon with limited edition prints, tombola & red ribbons. A drinks reception will take place on the 30th from 17.00. All visitors and donations welcome.

Imermanence – A solo exhibition by Joe Taylor

‘Crazy in Love’ Photographic Exhibition by Carolyn Brown

Oxford Street Studio would like to proudly present this fantastic body of work by Photographer Carolyn Brown.

Carolyn graduated from Loughborough University with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art, and has built upon this foundation, producing work of exceptional quality.

Nepal – Past and Present

20th August – 26th August 2015

Oxford Street Studio would like to proudly present: ‘Nepal – Past and Present” by local Photographer John Nutley.

The recent earthquakes in Nepal have caused irreparable damage to the country’s cultural heritage, and have even changed the landscape.

The photographs in this exhibition were taken in October and November 1987. Some are compared with press photos and other images taken during and after the Earthquakes, showing the extent of the devastation.

25% of all sales will be donated to help the people of Nepal to rebuild their country.

+2.5 vision

26th June – 5th July 2015

Oxford Street Studio would like to proudly present a solo photographic exhibition entitled ‘+2.5 vision’ by talented photographer Jim Browning.

The images on display are from a variety of international and local locations and Jim’s aim is to get you as the viewer to see the ‘World through his eyes’.

Jim Browning has lived in Brighton for over 20 years, and this is his first solo exhibition. He has worked in education for over 40 years, and is now enthusiastically embracing photography!
